Dr. David Samadi’s On A Mission To Fight Against Prostate Disease

David B. Samadi was born in Iran, in a Persian Jewish community, but continued his education in Belgium and London, after him and his brother had to leave Iran in 1979 when he was just 15 years old.

Samadi attended Roslyn High School in New York city in 1983, where he completed many academic programs and graduated.

And then, on a full scholarship, Samadi earned his degree in biochemistry from Stony Brook’s, State University of New York.

From a young boy, Samadi wanted to be a doctor to help people and started training in the field of prostate, bladder, and testicular cancer in 2000, after watching prostate cancer surgery being performed, which fascinated him, and made his mind up to specialize in prostate health.

He then attended Montefiore Medical Center, where David Samadi trained in general surgery and Urology, which he also received from Albert Einstein School of Medicine.

After that, Samadi attended Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, to obtain his fellowship in oncology and in urology, and later, went on to attend Henri Mondor Hospital Creteil in France, where he gained a robotic prostatectomy fellowship.

Now, Dr. Samadi works at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, where he is the chairman of urology and also Chief of Robotic Surgery. He is a member of both, The American Medical Association and The American Urologic Association, a board-certified urologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating urologic diseases, as well as, kidney, prostate, and bladder cancer, and, Dr. David Samadi, also trains prostate surgeons and prostate urologists all around the world.

Dr. David Samadi offers a free consultation to men newly diagnosed with prostate disease for which he also created a support group especially to emotionally support and inform them about all aspects of the disease. He has even appeared on Fox News as a medical correspondent and gives lectures and conferences around the globe to share his research observations, make people aware of prostate disease and more.

A leader in his field, Dr. David Samadi, is not only considered one of the greatest prostate surgeons in New York, but in the whole world, as he is also the only surgeon to use the da Vinci robotic system, to perform the “SMART” surgery technique, which he has done more than 7000 times!
