Mending Constitutions-Sujit Choudhry

An open letter was recently penned by several legal professionals led by Sujit Choudhry. The letter was addressing the Spanish and the Catalan governments due to the crisis experienced in Catalonia to urge both governments to accept dialogue. The issue to be discussed is the constitution and the attorneys hope that the leaders of the two governments will agree to sit down and discuss the constitution. The letter addressed to both Catalonian President and the Spanish Prime Minister. Puigdemont who is the President of Catalan was asked to show his devotion form separating from Spain. The lawyers believe that the only way the President can show the commitment is by organizing for a referendum which will allow the people of Catalan to show their desires. On the other hand, Rajoy who is the Prime Mister of Spain was asked to allow the Catalan people to exercise their rights and to avoid anything that will hinder them from expressing their desire.
