Sujit Choudhry Assisting Countries in the Constitutional Transitioning

Sujit Choudhry is well-known in the field of comparative constitutional law for his accomplishments in research, and his active partaking in helping countries around the world make their constitutional transition.

Sujit Choudhry dedicated his career to fill the many gaps in the comparative constitutional law. Over the years of research, he could not help but notice the immense lack of data and information on transitioning from one type of governance to another and that many questions were left unanswered. A handful of years ago Sujit Choudhry established a network of experts from all around the globe to work together and compile all of the data in one place. That way experts could figure out missing pieces of information and answer some very important questions through meticulous and factual analysis. The network is called Center for Constitutional Transitions, and Sujit Choudhry is the Director of the Center for Constitutional Transitions.

Over his decades of practice, Sujit Choudhry has contributed a lot to his line of work. Some of the most recent examples include Ukraine and Spain. The former has been experiencing some confusion in terms of its constitution. The country never managed to fully transition from the previous rule of communism and into democracy. Sujit Choudhry was invited to assist in Kiev along with several other legal experts. Sujit Choudhry recently took part in an open letter to Spain and Catalonia. The two have been undergoing some significant disputes as Catalonia is working towards becoming independent from Spain and transition into becoming a country of its own. The tension between the two sides has been growing to a point where neither would sit down to discuss the matter.
