Sujit Choudhry Meets with Experts to Discuss Constitutional Reform

During the past year, Sujit Choudhry attended a conference where he met with numerous experts on constitutional law. At this meeting, Sujit talked about how constitutional reform is very beneficial along with the positive aspects of a democratic government. When Sujit was at this meeting, he was able to talk to a number of people who are very knowledgeable about constitutional law and how many nations are currently governed. One of the nations that was a hot topic of discussion was Ukraine. This nation has been mostly democratic for over two decades. However, Choudhry and the experts realized that there are some aspects of the nation that are different from a typical democracy. They all realized that Ukraine provides the president with a lot of power along with weak opposing political parties. Along with being an advisor and scholar of constitutional law, Sujit Choudhry has also been involved in government and education. One of his first jobs was a lawyer working for the Canadian Supreme Court. This position allowed him to use his expertise to help Canada reform its laws and improve its political direction. Choudhry would then move on to become a professor and a dean at law schools in North America. His first stint in education was with the University of Toronto.
